TREATMENTS
Cosmetic acupuncture is a treatment that promotes graceful aging by addressing the whole body’s constitution, as well as the face. It’s a healthy and positive alternative to surgery, injections, and harsh chemicals, utilizing the body’s ability to harness its own fountain of youth for healing and rejuvenation. Deb has been certified in both the Advanced Constitutional Facial Acupuncture and Gold Standard Facial Acupuncture programs with Mary Elizabeth Wakefield LAc, MS, MM. How it works: What is happening on the inside of our bodies is reflected on the outside. Fine lines and wrinkles arise from a number of different causes, including lifestyle, diet, lack of exercise, repetitive muscle use, internal organ system factors, system imbalances, sun exposure, and genetics. Cosmetic acupuncture involves the placement of extremely fine needles in specific points of the face and neck to relax and smooth the muscles that are used for facial expression and bring proper circulation to the area. Then, even finer inter-dermal needles are threaded into the deeper lines to create a small injury right under the skin in the dermal layer to stimulate the natural production of collagen and elastin. This results in a diminished line, a lifted appearance, better skin tone and color, and a healthy youthful glow. A full-body treatment is included in the therapy, which helps to address imbalances, reduce stress, and improve circulation, organ function, and immunity to unlock the body’s own natural fountain of youth Stated and healing capacity. The complete treatment generates the following positive results:
Each individual is unique, with his or her own set of personalized needs. The number of treatments required will vary with each patient, as will the accompanying lifestyle modifications, and results will depend on compliance. Individually tailored diets are available, and acupoint-massage and exercise recommendations are offered for self-care between visits. An evaluation of variables such as stress, diet, lifestyle, sleep quality, proper digestion, and elimination will help determine the course of treatments. Patients usually see results after the first treatment, but a series of weekly treatments might be necessary for the body to rebalance and produce more lasting results. Before beginning therapy, patients must disclose to all their health care practitioners any health conditions, especially cancers, pituitary disorders, epilepsy, and diabetes, and whether they are taking any blood-thinning medications. Facial acupuncture is a very safe and effective treatment, but bruising may occur after treatments, even with extreme caution and the use of preventive methods. This initial appointment includes a full consultation, diagnosis, skin evaluation, self-care package explanation, and a deluxe facial treatment. You may experience some local redness right after your treatment, which should subside within an hour, however you will notice radiance to your face immediately.
